Here’s a photo of all my equipment at the beginning of my tour. I have updated the picture and list further down the page as my needs have changed in different regions of the world. I sent home a lot of stuff from France at the very beginning of the tour. I have described some technical tools and services in detail on the subpages of this article and want to highlight one particular item that occurs in all three equipment photos: the Lucido TX1 headlight. Therefore I have put a detailed review of the tool and my way of using it, online (also under subpages).

Another update (2008-01-28):
With a very minimalistic traveling style the gear list will change continuously, depending on the climate and the special needs of the area I am cycling in. But as a world tour is different to a short trip I will still always carry a bit more than necessary. So here is my latest gear list (beginning 2008), click on it to see the notes on the flickr site:
Future improvements will include a smaller camera with different features and a better 1 person/extra light 2 person tent where I can at least sit in.
