We got up at 9:30 or so and only a few minutes later 2 girls from Quebec arrived to couchsurf with Stef - wow! He’s a really concerned and very polite host and has showed them and the two Americans Brussels today.I met one of the two BicyCity groups at about 10:15.
 
There have already been several hundred cyclists and we were escorted to the starting place in the south of the city. It has been a really great feeling to cycle with so many others and without a single car.Then we arrived at the highway that was closed especially for that event and from then on we could use all 4 lanes! It was a kind of Critical Mass Brussels! I was cycling behind a TV car and they were filming me - maybe I have been on Belgian TV already?Then we met at a huge parc in the skyscraper area of the city. There we’ve been served soy drings by Alpro (I got 7 of these 250ml bottles 
and I met some other recumbent cyclists.After the event I left Brussels in southern direction but had to realize soon that my right leg hurted more and more - must have been something with the muscles.
So I paused not far from Waterloo and immediately found a place to charge my equipment. Looking at the sky I decided to leave the place for another with roof - a couchsurfer had told me the day before that it would start to rain on Monday. I found one only a few kilometers further and as I had put my stuff under the roof it started to rain! What a stroke of luck!
